Born Blantyre Lanarkshire, 27 March, died 5 July.  Painter in oil and watercolour; landscape and still life.  Educated at Blantyre and Hamilton Academy, trained Glasgow School of Art under Forrester Wilson, and Maurice Greiffenhagen 1920-25.  Taught still life at Glasgow School of Art 1951-1962.  Early in her career was greatly influenced by French Impressionists, particularly Pissarro, Bonnard and Vuillard.   Best known as a still life painter, her diploma work typifies her individual contribution to this field showing her predilection for rich colour, coruscating light and assured paint texture.  Married William Armour.  Elected ARSA 1941, RSW 1956 and RSA 1958.  Exhibited regularly RA, RSA, RSW, SSA and GI.  Represented in Aberdeen, Glasgow, City of Edinburgh collection, Dundee, Greenock, Paisley and Perth Art Galleries.
