Born 1905, daughter of the artist George Soper and sister of Eva Soper, also an artist. She was an etcher and illustrator of children’s and wildlife books. She showed early promise as an artist, exhibiting two of her works at the age of 15 at the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition. She continued to produce work of children at play into the thirties. She illustrated Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series of stories.
Her work has proved consistently popular with collectors.
