A painter in oils of landscapes with cattle and rural activities. Dixon Clark lived and worked in Blaydon and Whickham, Durham, for several years, contributing five of his works to the Royal Academy between 1890 and 1902. He frequently exhibited his work at the Gateshead photographers' shop run by his two sons, one of whom was John Clark, painter of miniatures.
