The artist, Lady Helen Jaffrey, was the second wife of the notable Aberdeen actuary and art collector Sir Thomas Jaffrey (1861-1953). She exhibited at the Aberdeenshire Artists' Society from 1935-1964 where she painted mainly flowers.
