Born Kirkcaldy. Painter in oil and watercolour, landscape , semi abstract. Studied at Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art 1948-1953 and taught at Broughton High School, Edinburgh. Paints oils in a loose, free style, using strong impasto and colour, reminiscent of Joan Eardley. Accorded great success in Australia, Europe and South Africa as well as in the UK. Her first solo exhibition was in Edinburgh in 1963. Elected RSW in 1968. Regular exhibitor at the RSA and RSW from 1960, also at the AAS 1964-1966.. Represented in SNGMA, RSA, Glasgow AG, Laing (Newcastle) AG, City of Edinburgh collection, Municipality of Ridderkerk (Holland), SAC, the late Duke of Edinburgh.
