Born Aberdeen, 12 March 1893. Painter, engraver, teacher, print seller, restorer, framer. nephew of Alec Fraser, another eminent Scottish painter. Served in Tyneside Scottish Regiment during WW1 when he was awarded the Military Cross for bravery. After the war he studied at Gray’s School of Art.

His delicate brushwork first found employment at Foresterhill, painting studies of diseased eyes, some of which were published in medial journals. Especially fond of outdoor pursuits, in 1949 he published 13 plates for The Young Angler (John Steel Allen). Painted seascapes, still lifes, animal studies, topographical views and miniatures. His delicately painted watercolours of local scenes and his sensitive etchings have always been popular.

Member of the Northern Arts Club. Studio for many years at 4 Diamond St, Aberdeen. Represented the main London auction houses in the north-east of Scotland.

Exhibited RSA (3), RI (1) and irregularly at AAS 1908-1937. Lived at Laurelwood Ave during his first marriage and Craigton Rd during his second marriage.
