In 1874 Luke Fildes married Fanny Woods, the sister of his great friend, Henry Woods. She was a model for a number of Fildes's paintings besides his portraits of her. She was also an artist and exhibited at the Dudley Gallery and at the Royal Academy. Among their seven children was the microbiologist Sir Paul Fildes (1882–1971).

Please see the entry for Sir Luke Fildes for a biography of her husband.
